Albany Engineered Composites (AEC) designs, develops, and manufactures advanced composite components in order to help our customers push the frontiers of innovation. Our core strength is our ability to produce highly tailored, complex composite components. With our unique blend of products - including 3D woven structures, traditional and non-traditional 2D composite structures, and discrete through thickness reinforcement technologies, to name a few - AEC is able to produce composite components and products which meet performance and cost specifications often beyond the reach of metallic or conventional laminated composites. Sources and issues subcontracts for machinery, equipment, tools, raw material, packaging materials, parts, services and/or supplies necessary for operation of an organization. Manages material aspects for assigned programs and/or commodity groups. Prepares, issues, and reviews proposals, negotiates prices, selects or recommends suppliers, analyzes trends, follows up orders placed, verifies delivery, approves payment and maintains necessary records. Compiles and analyzes statistical data to determine feasibility of buying products and to establish price objectives. Compiles information to keep informed on price trends and manufacturing processes. Confers with suppliers and analyzes suppliers' operations to determine factors that affect prices and determines lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability and ability to meet required schedules. Tracks and manages supplier performance, and is the key relationship manager for assigned suppliers. Responsible for compliance to Company policies and applicable Federal Acquisition Regulation laws. Erroneous decisions or failure to achieve objectives would normally have a serious effect upon the administration of the organization. Represents organization as a prime contact on contracts or projects. Interacts with senior internal and external personnel on significant matters often requiring coordination between organizations. Prepare proposal requests, consistent with the requirements of the contract. Develop new sources of supply based on quality product, on-time delivery and competitive pricing. Solicit and award purchase orders consistent with the requirements of the contract. Coordinate the approval process for all Supplier Statements of Work (SOWs); eliminate documentation conflict and ensure requirements are written in clear and unambiguous language Understand the significance of Commerciality and when to obtain a certification and data rights assertions Proficient in using the available tools to assess the financial health of current or prospective suppliers Understand Prime Contract Types and impact on resulting PO Requirements. Coordinate supplier status meetings to provide early identification of potential problems and minimize adverse effects on program performance, cost, and schedule. Supports the supplier management process by obtaining, disseminating, and facilitating communication related to cost/schedule variances. Develop Strategic/Long Term Agreements using historical or forecasted data to identify potential cost savings Cultivate supplier relationships and understand their organizational structures. Ensure all procurement actions which commit AEC to purchase materials or services from suppliers are properly documented , reviewed and approved consistent with policy and procedures. Execute factfinding of supplier proposals to answer questions related to cost estimates allowability, allocability and reasonableness. Understand business strategy and advise on risk management through negotiation of alternate language. Support audit activity as required. Experience/Education/Skills
Qualifications:
7
years of directly related experience. Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Business or a related field preferred. Advanced MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel and MRP/ERP system skills. Knowledge of Contract Law and other Procurement regulations. DoD FAR experience strongly preferred Strong aptitude for negotiations including some significant demonstrated success. Cost driven and understanding of impact to the bottom line. Cost-analysis skills and understanding of market drivers. Ability to assess internal risks of designs or processes that limit supply options. Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, both internal and external of the organization. Computer skills:
word documents, excel and power point. Possess electronic file management skills. Understand FAR/DFARS flow-down requirements Site Support and ability to meet internal customers' needs Goal Driven Sense of Urgency Hands-on style Attention to detail Ability to multi task, manage time effectively Out of the box thinking SAP experience highly desirable. Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
Minimum Qualification
